GOLD STAR TEACHERS

Funded by the McElroy Trust, the Gold Star Award for Outstanding Teaching is a teacher-recognition program for outstanding educators in Black Hawk County. Nominations are received from colleagues, administrators, students and/or parents. The ten finalists are selected by a panel composed of community members. We are proud to announce that two of the recipients are Cedar Falls teachers. Congratulations to Shelley Schlatter, Kindergarten teacher at Southdale Elementary, and Kenton Swartley, Physics Teacher at Cedar Falls High School!
